About
Range Life was formed in 2005 in Lawrence, Kansas by Zach Hangauer and brought to life with the extraordinary help of Jeffrey Isom (Pre Sense Form), Matthew Eastwood, Michael Pritie and Andrew Myers.
Our inspiration was the music being made by Justin Roelofs (what became White Flight) & other friends and family in Lawrence.
In 2007 we signed a Distribution deal with Saddle Creek, which allowed us to get our CD's in stores nationally (that was the goal then - ha!).
In 2008 Range Life was profiled in the Jan/Feb issue of FADER magazine.
Range Life artists have appeared in Spin, FADER, XLR8R, Urb, AP and Interview magazines, been featured on NPR and Daytrotter, played at the CMJ and SXSW Music Festivals, have had licensing placements on a number of TV shows and indie films, and been reviewed or featured on Pitchfork, Stereogum, Music For Robots, Tiny Mix Tapes and more.
🌴 Range Life HQ is currently San Francisco, California. We have no plans, at the moment, for any further releases.
A note about our YouTube channel: so many of our Music videos and behind-the-scenes weekly videos were unceremoniously deleted by YouTube in 2014 because of a failure to check a box on their updated terms of service. Lesson: always back everything up! Also: if you happen to have any cool old footage of shows or interviews, we'd love for you to share them. All of those mini DV tapes that were in vogue in the 2000's are actually really fragile and not really built to last, so get them digitized before it's too late! Technology = hilarious.
